Teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh

The Teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh are based on living simply, in harmony with the earth and with others. The Plum Village Way to Living invites you to discover more about the way of living and reconnect with your true nature. The teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who died at the Tu Hieu Temple in Hue, Vietnam, are taught by nine senior teachers who have studied under Thich Nhat Hanh. They will discuss insights drawn from Thay's writings.

Thich Nhat Hanh's teachings were based on the traditions and practices of eleven monasteries worldwide. The Plum Village Tradition describes the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh in forty tenets, each focused on a particular aspect of Buddhism. This text is used often as the basis of Mindfulness Trainings. These teachings are also rooted into the Buddhist tradition.

How to Care for Autism-Affected Children

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a neurodevelopmental condition, is characterised by repetitive behavior and impairments in social communication. ASD is a condition that affects one out of 50 people in the world. There is no treatment.

The 18-month-old age of infancy is when the symptoms first appear. The most common symptoms include difficulties understanding other people's emotions, difficulty making eye contact, poor language development and difficulty learning new skills. These symptoms can sometimes lead directly to severe behavioral problems such as aggression, anxiety and depression.

There is currently no known cause for this disease, although researchers believe genetics play a role. Some studies suggest environmental factors like infections, fever, diet, stress, medications, vaccines, alcohol, and tobacco use could trigger the onset of ASD. Some studies also suggest that certain viruses such as rubella and measles may increase the chance of developing ASD later in your life.

While early intervention and diagnosis can make a difference in outcomes, many families still struggle with their child’s behaviour after school. Different treatment options are available depending on the severity and type of the problem. However, research shows that therapies focused on improving social interaction and reducing problem behaviors can make a difference.
